Constitution, Shmonstitution

Happy Friday, my little birds!

A History Lesson
First of all, I need to apologize for a falsehood I unknowingly said on last night's episode of Ace of Cakes. Duff and I were debating which came first, the Constitution or the Liberty Bell. Well, the answer is the Liberty Bell. I then went on to boldly and incorrectly state that separation of Church and State was "in the constitution". Well, do I ever have egg on my face. This phrase is actually not in the Constitution, as about 5,436 people have let me know via email and phone calls.  The phrase is actually traced to a letter written by Thomas Jefferson, in which he refers to the First Amendment. The First Amendment states:

Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This section of the Constitution protects the Government from religion while simultaneously protecting our freedom of religion. Weren't our Founding Fathers smart? So to all who have their panties in a bunch about what I said: I was wrong. You can stop correcting me now. I would also like to personally apologize to my Mother, a former history teacher, who is probably mortified.

March for the Animals

Sunday Sunday Sunday! This weekend is the March for the Animals to benefit the Maryland SPCA. Duff will be officially starting the march, and most of us bakery kids will be there too! It's not too late to make a donation via the Charm City Cakes Pack. We are SO CLOSE to our fundraising goal and it would be phenominal if you could help us reach it! The march starts at 10:00 AM on Sunday at Druid Hill Park. Come on out and help us support this very worthy cause. You'll be glad you did!

Skate and Destroy

Need something to do on Saturday while you're waiting for Sunday's March? Well, the NUMBER SEVEN RANKED Charm City Roller Girls will be kicking ass and taking names at a collosal double header bout. Our amazingly talented all-star team will be taking on the Pikes Peak All-Stars as well as the #1 ranked Gotham City Roller Girls.

This bout is going to be HUGE.

If you haven't been to a bout yet, this is the one to go to. Doors at six! See you there!

For Those About to Rock, We Salute You
Duff's band, soihadto, has a show next week. You should go. In the words of Duff, his band will "MELT YOUR FACE". The show is Thursday, April 23rd at our alma mater, UMBC. Plus, it's a benefit for the Red Cross. Rock for a cause - how can you go wrong?

Also, Katherine's band, Lexie Mountain Boys, is about to go on tour. IN EUROPE! If you're reading this from across the pond, check out their tour schedule to find your country on the itinerary.
